     The picture at left was taken on July 25, 1976 by the Viking 1 orbiter.  It depicts what appears to be a humanoid-like face located in the Cydonia region of Mars.  Cydonia is a visually interesting area on the Martian surface full of geological features such as canyons, plateaus, and pyramid shaped hills.  Some people have speculated that this "Martian Face" was created by an ancient Martian civilization.  Others dismiss it as being natural rock formation subjected to a combination of light and shadow and thereby causing the illusion of a face.  It is 2 km (1.2 miles) long.

    United States president Richard M. Nixon was highly aware of the existence of extra terrestials.  In fact, he is reputed to have shown captured space alien bodies to several of his famous celebrity freinds.
